Known during World War II as the Bell Bomber Plant, Air Force Plant 6 is located in Marietta, Georgia, and is currently owned by the U.S. Air Force. It began operation in the spring of 1943 and was built specifically to produce B-29 Superfortresses under license from Boeing.
However, due to military firefighters and trainees using AFFF, a highly toxic fire suppressant, on the premises of Air Force Plant 6 in the past, today, the installation's water is contaminated with dangerous levels of PFAS, namely 98,000 ppt. This concentration exceeds the safe limit by roughly 24,500 times and greatly endangered the health of the military personnel and their family members who were stationed there. According to the last update from the EPA, toxic exposure was under control, but groundwater was not controlled at the military base.
If you came to struggle with a disease, either as a member of the military or as a family member of one, after spending at least one year at Air Force Plant 6 as a result of exposure to PFAS, also known as "forever chemicals," you are entitled to financial compensation.
While PFAS are the only known contaminants of concern lurking on Air Force Plant 6, there might be other toxic agents lurking in the water. Out of this class of chemicals, there are two that are perhaps the most dangerous, specifically PFOA and PFOS. Both are present in the groundwater of the military base at the moment, increasing the risk of people living there developing serious, even fatal, health conditions, such as cancer.
If you lived on Air Force Plant 6 for at least one cumulative year, you were inevitably exposed to PFAS from drinking water, which is why we strongly encourage you to seek medical attention immediately if you notice a new onset of symptoms.
Exposure to PFAS was a very serious issue for military personnel and their family members while they were stationed at Air Force Plant 6, as the chemicals reached their bodies after drinking tainted water. There are numerous diseases that prolonged exposure to PFAS can lead to over the years, such as the following:
If you developed one of the above diseases after being stationed at Air Force Plant 6, you have the right to seek financial compensation.
