Fort Ord: PFAS exposure claims

Former U.S. Army post Fort Ord operated between 1917 and 1994. Like over 700 military bases across the country, Fort Ord was contaminated with PFAS, among other hazardous agents. In 2020, the Army measured and found PFAS at seven locations of the former base.  New tests conducted in 2022 showed a PFOS level of 19.000 ppt, and a PFOA level of 1340 ppt, highly exceeding the levels set by the EPA.

What diseases can PFAS exposure cause?

As previously mentioned, cancer is the most serious health issue that exposure to PFAS can result in, and it can affect many organs and tissues in the body, depending on where the largest amount of these chemicals is found. Nonetheless, there are other diagnoses that have a strong causal relation with PFAS exposure. These are the health problems exposure to PFAS can cause, as well as the diagnoses that make you eligible to file a toxic exposure claim:

If you had the misfortune of receiving one of the diagnoses above and were stationed at Fort Ord, we encourage you to give our legal team a call, as you are most likely entitled to financial compensation.
